So people have been asking me about "The Big Debate" and want to know what we decided on. Well, being the great bargain shopper that I am, found a lot of ads for stores that had some nice looking 6 ft. artificial trees for only $25. This lead Matt to decide he would give in and consent to a fake tree since it was such a great deal.
Well a few days later, we went on our big outing to find ourselves a Christmas tree. Much to our surprise, we went to multiple stores, and all of the Christmas trees were gone (this was the first week of December?)! We couldn't believe that the only ones left were around $200, no thanks. So feeling a little dejected, we made our way home.
A few nights later, we decided to try again. Since all of the cheap trees were gone, we went over to a Christmas tree lot and picked out a great tree for us. We brought him home and named him Herbie.

Now I'll admit, the smell of the Herbster has been great. He has even been a good little tree and only shed a few needles! I don't know if I'm completely sold on the idea of getting a real tree EVERY year, but it sure worked for us this year. We picked out some cheap ornaments, lights and candycanes for the year. We really do love our tree and am sad to see him go. You've been a great tree Herbie!
